Returning from an internship at Pixar Animation Studios this past summer, Jessica Baron will discuss her experiences as a roadmap into the film- and game-production industry through being involved academically and professionally. She will also cover basics of path-traced rendering and her work on the RenderMan renderer during the Pixar internship.
Jessica Baron is a Ph.D. student in the Visual Computing division of Computer Science. Her dissertation work is focused on measuring and modeling the light-scattering interactions of feathers. She has been a part of the global graphics community through involvement with ACM-SIGGRAPH; internships at Pixar Animation Studios and Weta Digital and abroad in Germany and New Zealand; teaching for Clemson's Digital Production Arts program; and a background of academic research.
